Work out what Octopus tariffs might cost you
Pop in your postcode and how much electricity you use — we'll line up published Octopus rates for your part of the UK so you can see which tariffs come out cheaper for yourusage. If we can't pin down your exact network area, we'll still show a sensible UK-wide comparison. When you're happy, you can switch via Octopus (referral credit is handled by them, on their terms).

Common questions
How does the calculator work?
We multiply your monthly kWh by 12, apply each tariff's published unit rate (pence per kWh, including VAT), add the daily standing charge × 365, and convert to pounds. Data is pulled from Octopus's public API when you click compare.
Is this official Octopus Energy?
No — we're a separate project. We only read public tariff information. For anything account-related, use octopus.energy directly.
Why does postcode matter?
Your bill depends partly on which part of the electricity grid you're on. Postcode tells us which regional price set to use so you're not comparing London rates if you live in Scotland, for example.

Figures are estimates only. Your real bills can differ — especially on time-of-use tariffs or if rates change.
